Catching UP

 February 2020

Making Art in Bahrain

In February, I took some personal days, and took myself to an extraordinary weekend of Art in Manama, Bahrain. I attended two days of workshops organized by ArtShift. It was such a wonderful experience. I spent the entire weekend with fellow Art teachers, learning new techniques, and making new friends.

My very first spray painting graffiti project (much harder than it looks!)

My very first felting project.

Catching Up

Quarantine in Canada (and then a race to get myself ready to move to......

I was out of quarantine when I posed for this picture, modelling the beautiful Art apron and matching mask made by the talented Esther Pace.

I arrived back in Canada in July, and went immediately to my sister Cathy's house in Oshawa. My wonderful sisters had already stocked the kitchen with food for me. Cathy went to stay with a friend, and it was just me and the cats for two.long.weeks. Darlene brought me a chair to sand and paint and decorate, so that I didn't go out of my mind. I did my geometry, and read, and tried really hard not to eat constantly.

I had lots of loving company.

My sister Darlene is one of those people who can see the potential in anything. She rescued three 'Muskoka' chairs from the trash and brought them over for me to work on while I was in quarantine.

The chairs had already been decorated, so a lot of sanding was called for.

One down, two to go.
