Still in Istanbul...
My friend Karen came with me to visit Topkapi Palace. She hadn't been for a while, and neither had I. I wanted to check out the geometric designs with a slightly more knowledgeable eye.
And then, wham! the world turned upside down. I was suddenly teaching Art through a computer screen, talking to my friends through a computer screen. Like the rest of the world, I was frightened, and lonely. I knew I was leaving Turkey, so I had to somehow get my belongings shipped, and organize transport for my cats. My original flight to Canada was cancelled, leaving me spinning my wheels in my apartment in Istanbul until well into July.
